WELCOME

Welcome to ALTA, a place where you can find specialized therapy in a safe, compassionate, and empowering environment. As a dedicated Grief, Trauma, and Addiction specialist, I understand the intricacies and challenges that often accompany these experiences. It can be daunting to confront grief, trauma, or addiction without a clear understanding of how they impact your life. Through advanced training and multiple certifications, I bring a comprehensive and integrative approach to treatment, honoring the complexity and destabilization of these concerns. This allows our work together to be both thoughtful and effective, offering clarity, education, and support at every step. My ultimate goal is to help clients gain clarity and resilience, paving the way for new possibilities and a brighter future.

MY PHILOSOPHY
True healing begins when we anchor ourselves in our strengths, values, and purpose. These are not just parts of who you are—they are the path forward. These form the foundation of my therapeutic approach. In our work together, we focus on cultivating these core elements. Dwelling on pain without drawing on your inner power keeps you stuck.

Transformation comes when you remember what’s already within you.

ABOUT ME

I believe you come to therapy as the expert of your own story. My role is to offer a safe, empathic, and grounding space where you can explore concerns, clarify goals, and create meaningful change on your own terms. I take a holistic approach to counseling, honoring the whole person and supporting alignment between who you are, how you feel, and how you function in daily life. Our work is a collaborative, nonjudgmental partnership that encourages curiosity, reflection, and the courage to “break open” into new perspectives.

I strive to work with diverse populations and integrate culturally responsive, evidence-based, and nature-informed modalities, remaining flexible and attuned to what matters most to you. I view symptoms not as limitations, but as potential sources of insight—transforming into wisdom, gratitude, and deeper connection through thoughtful evaluation and personalized care. Your voice, feedback, and transparency guide the structure of our work together, ensuring that treatment plans are tailored to your unique goals and experiences.

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Davidson College. I am a Certified Trauma Professional, Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, and EMDR-trained through the EMDR International Association.  I have completed training and am awaiting  certification once independently licensed for:
  • Narcissistic Abuse Training Clinician ( C-NATC)
  • Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist ( CAGCS)
  • Certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (C-DBT)

I have also completed intensive trainings in Internal Family Systems, Nature-Informed Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Prior to entering the counseling field, I spent ten years supporting vulnerable children in community service leadership. My professional perspective is shaped by life experience, faith, multicultural engagement, love for nature, and collaborative learning, all of which guide my belief that change is possible and can lead to more congruent, life-giving possibilities.

We can then decide how we want to live and be in the world."
